Ranking badge policy

A dated result, never a purchased endorsement.

A badge may communicate a factual, current benchmark result only when the market, geography, date, metric, and controlling evidence remain visible.

Version 1.0Reviewed September 15, 2026

Required content

Every production badge must visibly state:

  • The rank or measured achievement.
  • The industry and geography.
  • The year or observation window.
  • The metric and Benchmark Bureau name.
  • A link to the live result and controlling methodology.

Prohibited claims

A badge may not say or imply “certified,” “approved,” “endorsed,” “officially the best,” or “guaranteed.” It is evidence of a dated measurement, not product accreditation.

Eligibility and independence

  • Eligibility follows the published result.
  • Payment does not affect rank or badge access.
  • A correction may change or revoke eligibility.
  • A superseded badge becomes historical and must retain its date.

Permitted changes

Approved assets may be resized. Users may not remove the market, date, or metric; change the rank; add endorsement language; recolor the badge to imply another status; or continue using it after a material correction invalidates the result.

Correction and removal

Benchmark Bureau may request correction or removal of a misleading badge. The public result and correction record control if a company-created graphic conflicts with the published evidence.

Template statusDesign specimens are not live awards. A production badge must replace every specimen field and link to a live, current result plus the controlling methodology.
